Released on October 11, Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer Jigra started off on a decent note and managed to maintain a decent collection over its opening weekend. The film – which was released during the Navratri festivities, has amassed over Rs 16 crore in the last three days. As per Dharma Production’s latest Instagram post, Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina Jigra’s NBOC for the last 3 days is Rs 16.64 crore. The breakup for the film’s first-weekend collection is – Friday (Day 1) Rs 4.55 crore, Saturday (Day 2) – Rs 6.58 crore and Sunday (Day 3) – Rs 5.51 crore.
Bollywood Bubble reviewed Jigra and gave the film a 3.5-star rating. Praising the film, a part of the review read, “Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s bother-sister bond is the highlight of this Vasan Bala directorial.” Complimenting the actors’ performances, the reviewer wrote, “Alia impresses as Satya Anand and beautifully portrays the fierceness expected from a Mama Bear – in this case the elder sister.” Talking about Vedang’s acting skills, the review added, “From being a carefree younger brother to emoting the pain an inmate faces when nearing their execution is impressive – Vedang has impressed.”
